Migration — Migrate Speakers to Bosman
Bose SoundTouch speakers are originally connected to the Bose Cloud. Since Bose has announced the discontinuation of the cloud service in May 2026, the speakers need to be migrated to the Bosman server to continue using all features.
Prerequisites
- Bosman App installed and account created
- Speaker powered on and connected to the same network
- Stable internet connection
Step 1: Find Speakers
- Open the Bosman App.
- The app automatically discovers SoundTouch devices on your network.
- Speakers that have not been migrated are shown with an orange Migration required banner.
Step 2: Start Migration
- Tap the speaker with the "Migration required" banner.
- The app connects to the speaker and starts the migration process.
- The speaker is redirected from the Bose server to the Bosman server.
Step 3: Wait
- The migration takes about 1–2 minutes.
- The speaker restarts automatically.
- After the reboot, the speaker connects to the Bosman server.
Step 4: Done
- The speaker now appears without a banner in the device list.
- All features (presets, zones, internet radio) are available.
Note: After migration, the speaker is controlled via the Bosman server and can no longer be used with the original Bose SoundTouch app. This is reversible at any time — a factory reset (see Device Reset) restores the speaker to its original state.
