The protection of your personal data is very important to us. In this privacy policy, we inform you about the aspects of data processing within the framework of our app "Bosman".
1. Purpose-Bound Processing of App Data
The "Bosman" app processes only the data required to operate the app. This includes linking devices to accounts, storing recents and presets per device, and storing sources per account. We do not use third-party analytics tools.
2. No Statistics or Event Collection
The app does not collect usage statistics, telemetry, or other device event data. This recording is disabled and is not stored by us.
3. Communication with Devices and Servers
The app communicates directly with your Bose SoundTouch devices on your local network (Wi-Fi) and additionally with the Bosman server. Any available DLNA media servers are also contacted directly on the local network.
After a migration, devices managed by Bosman no longer communicate with the Bose cloud and instead communicate with the Bosman server. As a result, part of the communication required for operation leaves your local network.
The Bosman server is operated in data centers within the European Union (Google Cloud, region europe-west3, Frankfurt am Main).
In the course of using the app, technical data required for operation is processed. This includes in particular device identifiers, account assignments, and control and communication data between the app, server, and devices. This data is not shared with third parties unless required for the technical provision of the service.
If internet radio is used as a source, the device communicates directly with the servers of the respective provider. Bosman does not transmit any personal data to these providers.
4. Permissions
The app requires the following permissions to function properly:
- Local Network: Required to find and control Bose SoundTouch devices and DLNA servers on your Wi-Fi.
- Internet Connection: Required for communication with the Bosman server and for migrated devices that route their server communication through Bosman.
5. Storage of Settings and Functional Data
Some settings remain stored locally on your device. In addition, we store the device-to-account mapping, recents and presets per device, and sources per account as functional app data so they remain available within the app.
6. Your Rights
If you have questions about stored account-related app data or want to request information or deletion, you can contact us using the options listed below. If you uninstall the app, the settings stored locally on your device will be removed.
