WiFi Setup — Connect Speaker to WiFi
How to connect your Bose SoundTouch speaker to a WiFi network using the Bosman App. The setup uses the speaker's own WiFi network (SoftAP).
Prerequisites
- Speaker in setup mode (LED flashes orange). If not, perform a Device Reset.
- Bosman App installed
- Your home WiFi password ready
Step 1: Connect to the Speaker
- Open the Bosman App and go to Settings → "Set up new speaker".
- Open your phone's WiFi settings.
- Connect to the network "Bose ST ..." of the speaker.
- Return to the Bosman App. The app automatically detects that you are connected to the speaker.
Step 2: Scan for WiFi Networks
- Once connected to the speaker, tap "Scan WiFi networks".
- The speaker scans for available WiFi networks nearby.
- Alternatively, you can enter the network name (SSID) manually.
Step 3: Select WiFi Network
- Select your home WiFi from the list of discovered networks.
- For a secured network: Enter the WiFi password.
- Tap "Connect".
Step 4: Wait for Setup
- The app sends the credentials to the speaker.
- The speaker exits setup mode and connects to your WiFi network.
- The app automatically switches back to your home WiFi and searches for the speaker on the network.
- This process can take up to one minute.
Step 5: Name & Finish
- Once the speaker is found on the network, you can give it a custom name.
- You can also skip this step.
- The speaker then appears in the device list of the Bosman App.
Tip: If the app doesn't automatically find the speaker after setup, make sure your phone is connected back to your home WiFi. You can check this in your phone's WiFi settings.
