Stereo Mode
A stereo pair turns two SoundTouch 10 into a left and a right channel. Bosman then shows the pair as a single speaker.
Stereo pair or zone?
A stereo pair splits the music across two speakers in one room: left and right. A zone plays the same music on several speakers in different rooms. It has its own guide: Multi-room zones.
Requirements
- Two SoundTouch 10. Other models do not support stereo pairs.
- Both are switched on, on the same Wi-Fi and connected to your account in Bosman.
- Neither of them is already in another stereo pair or in a multi-room zone. Such speakers appear greyed out in the list, with the reason next to them.
- Ideally both stand in the same room, 2 to 6 metres apart.
Create a stereo pair
- Open Settings → Speakers and tap the arrow on the right of the row of the speaker that should play on the left.
- Tap Create stereo pair. This speaker is already set as the left channel.
- Under Pick the right speaker, choose the second speaker and tap Continue. The speaker icon next to an entry plays a test sound, so you can hear which one is meant.
- If the sides are wrong, swap them with Swap L↔R.
- Give the pair a name if you like and tap Create stereo pair. The app then opens the settings of the new pair.
Manage the pair
Open the pair settings via Settings → Speakers and the arrow on the right of the pair’s row. There you can:
- Test L and Test R: a test sound on one side shows which speaker stands where.
- Swap L↔R: swap left and right. The pair is briefly separated and rebuilt with the channels swapped. If it is currently playing in a multi-room zone, dissolve the zone first.
- Balance: make one side louder than the other. Recenter returns it to the middle.
- Rename: give the pair its own name.
- Dissolve pair: the app asks once, then both speakers appear individually again.
If setup fails
- A speaker does not respond: check that both are switched on and on Wi-Fi. If that does not help, restart the speaker.
- A speaker is not yet fully connected to your account: wait a moment and try again.
- A speaker is already in a stereo group: dissolve the other pair first.
- The two speakers did not connect to each other: try again.
